Experts Through Experience are just that: individuals who have been through a specific circumstance first hand.  We can read and research as much as we like, but the words of the people who have been there  – or are there right now – count for a lot more.

How many times have you wished you could talk to someone who completely understood what you’re going through?  Or help you understand a situation so you could support friends or family? Or maybe you just want to learn more about mental health related issues so we can all have better informed conversations.

This library of Experts Through Experience is for you if:

  • it would be useful to you to know you are not alone in your situation and hear some words from someone who ‘gets it’.
  • you are supporting someone in these circumstances and would like to know more about the topic and perhaps get some guidance on how you can help.
  • you just want to find out more about the topic to add to your current knowledge.

Each ‘book’ is an audio of around 10 minutes or less, and six amazing people have given their time to cover these topics:

(or you can go through them all back to back on this link)

Obviously, everyone’s experiences are different, so even with these accounts, please keep in mind that we are hearing from one person and their personal views, and on these topics there is no right or wrong.

Are you an expert?

I hope to build this page into a library of voices.  If you have a story to share – even if it’s on a topic already covered –  that you think would help others, please contact me and we can have a chat.  Anyone who takes part is offered a one hour online session with me, with my compliments, as a thank you.  All sessions are recorded online so you can be anywhere in the world, and nobody will know it’s you (unless you tell them!)

Please note: no experts have been harmed in the making of these recordings.  All have given their time and story willingly.  I’m indebted to them all as without them, there would be no library. Thank you all.
